Just over a year ago KPMG released its global survey of the construction industry and of the 165 senior executives interviewed, 77% reported underperforming projects due to delays, poor estimating processes and failed risk management as the key challenge for the sector. Although the industry has heavily invested in risk management procedures in recent years, with billions of dollars invested in mega projects taking place across Australia, the sector needs to consider how it can further improve risk management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Infrastructure Project RISK Management 2015 will bring together stakeholders from across the construction and engineering industry to discuss the strategies you can utilize to create a stronger risk culture across your project and evaluate potential risks to ensure problems are identified at an early stage to avoid costly delays during construction where reworks and delays cause cost blowouts.

Learning areas on the program include:

  • Project risk analysis
  • Developing a risk governance framework
  • Embedding a stronger risk culture across your project infrastructure project
  • Establishing and maintaining systems relating to risk and control
